When we started this venture, we considered naming it “Laos” to honor our Laotian roots. We knew that our initial tours would be centered in Laos and its neighboring countries—Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand—reflecting the rich cultures and landscapes of the region.
However, we envisioned something bigger. Our goal is to design and develop cycling tours across the globe, inviting riders to look beyond familiar horizons and explore diverse terrains, histories, and communities far beyond Southeast Asia. While our Laotian heritage shaped our beginnings, choosing the name Global Cycling Travel signals a spirit of curiosity and growth. It reflects our commitment to collaboration, learning, and responsible tourism in many corners of the world. Ultimately, we want to encourage our guests to travel more broadly and build connections with new places.
As former cycling guides who have supported numerous travel companies across Southeast Asia and beyond, our co-founders have brought local insights, safety, and authentic experiences to every route. We believe that development requires constant movement, and although the world enjoys rapid advances in technology, there remains an untapped opportunity to combine digital tools with on-the-ground expertise.

I’m Mr. Joy, and I’m joined by my strong team of Mr Kim, Mr. Luke, Mr. Leo, and Mr. Kuysin. We are a team of former cycling guides united by a passion for creating exceptional cycling experiences. Over the years, we’ve organized and operated tours for major international operators and local firms, gaining deep experience in route planning, safety, logistics, and guest experience.
Motivated by our insight that every company has its strengths and limitations, we founded Global Cycling Travel to deliver refined, high-quality bicycle tours. Our mission is to combine professional standards with local knowledge to create safe, memorable, and immersive journeys across Laos and beyond. We focus on continuous improvement, personalized service, and sustainable practices, all while prioritizing inclusivity, cultural exchange, and low-impact travel.
We also design unique tours for children and families, creating safe, fun, and enriching bike tours that build confidence, outdoor skills, and lifelong memories. Each trip is thoughtfully planned with child-friendly routes, trained guides, appropriate equipment, and a focus on safety, environmental awareness, and cultural learning.
